Privacy Policy
WebFlux is a web design and conversion studio based in Ottawa, Ontario. This page explains exactly what we collect when you use this website, why we collect it, and how to have it removed.
What we collect
We only collect two kinds of information: what you type into a form, and anonymous data about how the site was used.
Information you give us
If you submit the contact form, we receive your name, email address, phone number (optional), and the message you write. If you book an audit call, our scheduling provider collects your name, email address, and the time you picked, plus anything you add in the booking notes.
Contact form submissions are delivered to us as email. We do not store them in a database on this website.
Text messages (SMS)
If you agree to receive text messages from WebFlux - either by telling us so during a phone call or by opting in on this site - we record your mobile number, the date, and how you consented, and we use that number only to send you the messages you agreed to. Full details of the program, including how to stop, are in the SMS section of our Terms of Service.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. The only exception is the vendors that deliver the messages on our behalf and the CRM where we keep the consent record, listed below.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, we use analytics tools that record how pages are used - which pages were viewed, roughly where in the world the visit came from, what device and browser were used, and which link brought you here. The tools we run are:
- Google Analytics - aggregate traffic and conversion reporting.
- Microsoft Clarity - heatmaps and anonymized session recordings, so we can see where visitors get stuck. Recordings capture clicks, scrolling, and mouse movement. They do not capture what you type into form fields.
- Meta Pixel - measures whether an advertisement led to a booking.
These tools set cookies in your browser. You can block or delete them in your browser settings, or use its “Do Not Track” setting, without losing access to anything on this site.
How we use it
We use the information for these purposes and no others:
- To reply to you and run the audit call you asked for.
- To measure which pages and ads actually produce enquiries, so we know where to spend effort.
- To find and fix usability problems on the site.
We do not sell your information, rent it, or share it with anyone for their own marketing.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of third-party services to run this site. Each one only receives what it needs to do its job:
- Resend - delivers contact form submissions to our inbox.
- Cal.com - handles call scheduling and calendar invitations.
- Vercel - hosts the website and keeps standard server logs.
- Twilio - delivers the text messages you have agreed to receive and processes STOP and HELP replies.
- Close - the CRM where we keep your contact details and the record of your SMS consent.
- Google, Microsoft, and Meta - the analytics and advertising tools listed above.
When we report a completed booking back to Meta so an ad campaign can be measured, any personal detail in that report is irreversibly hashed before it leaves our server. Meta receives a scrambled fingerprint it can match against, never your actual email address or phone number.
Some of these providers operate servers outside Canada, which means your information may be processed in another country and be subject to the laws there.
How long we keep it
Enquiries stay in our email for as long as we may reasonably need them for the conversation and our business records. Analytics data expires on each provider’s own retention schedule, typically between two and fourteen months.
Your rights
Under Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), you can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and ask us to delete it. Email paul@webflux.ca and we will action the request within 30 days.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS, and form submissions are encrypted in transit. No website can promise perfect security, but we keep the amount of personal information we hold deliberately small, which is the most effective protection there is.
Children
This site sells services to businesses and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
